Projects and Work

Bullet Projects I have worked on (and probably still working on)

blimkemlights

" Blinkenlights" is an interactive lights installation that transforms a building into a huge computer screen that is capable of displaying computer-generated images and movie clips. The installation has been implemented by the Chaos Computer Club in Berlin. A more sophisticated installation took place in Paris, and the new technology has been named "Arcade". Blinkenlights was a computer-controlled installation. This allowed more capabilities than just displaying movies or images. Interactive applications where allowed on the building. One could play the famous Tetris game on the building using nothing but a mobile phone.

"blimkemlights" is a brand new installation that aims to re-implement that interactive installation, but using a brand new technology. The installation will took place in Damascus. The project is still under development and their has been no estimation yet of when the project will come live.

Meanwhile, there has been a extensive effort to build a minimized model of the big installation. BlimkemMINI, rebuilds blimkemlights on a small scale. The interactive matrix has been simulated with a matrix of LEDs. The matrix is controlled by personal computer using the parallel port as communication method.

Oldamascus.com (www.oldamascus.com)

Oldamascus.com is an informational website dedicated entirely to the oldest city in the world, Damascus. The site features a large number of photo galleries and articles.

Clacky

A light-weight, elegant, and cute HTTP tunneling client/server package. It will tunnel all your TCP/IP (except UDP) traffic through a Clacky Server. It will work from behind an HTTP proxy. It will support client to Clacky Server authentication and encryption. Clacky will support virtually all UNIXes. Clacky is still in its very early days. Please see the Clacky page for more information.

Bullet Computer Programs I have written

Advanced 802.11 Sniffer and Analyzer (Snizo)

A utility intended fo analysis of the MAC protocol and security auditing of 802.11 wireless networks. Snizo runs under Linux. Please see Snizo's page for more information.

HTML Messages Encoder

A utility intended to provide mild privacy to messages sent by e-mail using encryption. The program converts RichText messages to encrypted, self-decrypting HTML files protected with secret key. Internet Explorer 4.0 or later would be needed to view the self-decrypting HTML files. Download source code (written in MS Visual Basic 6.0)

Password Guard

Password Guard is a small utility that allows you to store your sensitive information such as e-mail addresses, passwords, and small notes easily with minimal security. It can be configured for use by multiple users on the same machine , and has useful features such as exporting encrypted information to files (for backup or later imports). Download source code (written in MS Visual Basic 6.0)
